Methodology

Tisseyre + Associés has 30 years of experience in 3D modeling of acoustic phenomena in rooms in operation and the acoustic performance of materials. Instead of using the sound ray shooting technique which does not take into account the architectural details, we use the finite element mesh technique which allows these details to be modeled with finesse in order to fully integrate them into the acoustic performance. of the room from its conception. Based on the observation that the acoustics of a room are structuring for its architecture, we have developed a joint working methodology with the architect.

Tasks

Complete acoustic mission

We start from the observation that the uses are considerably influenced by the acoustics of a place, therefore it is essential to start from the uses planned during the acoustic design. Our tool for digital models of spaces in operation, Intelligibility®, constitutes a work support allowing to propose tailor-made solutions according to the needs from the design stage. These 3D models fill in the gaps of sound measurements which are only acoustic photographs. They thus make it possible to anticipate acoustic solutions according to the multiplicity of uses in order to integrate them into the architecture in an optimized manner.

Environmental acoustic mission

Thanks to BIMAE®, BIM Acoustic Environmental, we can model soundscapes in the future state of completion hour by hour, taking into account all sound sources (noise from transport, human activities, technical equipment). Thus we are able to anticipate and integrate acoustic insulation solutions into the architecture in order to:

  • To ensure that the sound activity of the building does not emerge from the pre-existing soundscape, on the one hand;
  • To ensure that the activities inside the building are not disturbed by external nuisances, on the other hand.
