Methodology

Tisseyre + Associés has 40 years of experience in 3D modeling of acoustic phenomena in rooms in operation. 3D modeling from the first stages of the projects, allows on the one hand to anticipate the acoustic solutions in order to integrate them into the architecture and to take into account with finesse all the architectural details to fully integrate them into the acoustic performance of the halls. Starting from the observation that the acoustics of a room are structuring for its architecture, we have developed a joint working methodology with the architect by basing our solutions on the needs and uses of each space.

Tasks

Complete acoustic mission of the hall of the Palais de la Découverte

Thanks to our 3D model tool for spaces in operation, Intelligibility®, we can collaborate from the design phase with the architect in order to integrate the acoustic solutions into the architecture of the hall. For the hall of the Palais de la Découverte, we proposed tailor-made acoustic solutions adapted to the different uses planned for each space and to the aesthetic requirements of this listed building. Our software makes it possible to take into account the noise of technical equipment (ventilation, projectors, sound systems) as well as the noise of human activities (noise of visitors, ticket office, guided tour). Thus we offer integrated acoustic solutions in order to meet a double constraint:

  • Each activity is perfectly intelligible to visitors
  • That the sound emission of each activity is unintelligible between spaces so as not to disturb other visitors.

Tailor-made acoustic solutions

The Palais de la Découverte is a listed building, therefore, it was essential to offer tailor-made integrated and reversible acoustic solutions so as not to distort its architecture. Thanks to Intelligibility®, we worked directly with the architect in order to propose solutions imitating a stone effect so that they correspond to the architecture of the site.
