Best Tall Office Building 2022

The Trinity Tower is located in the heart of the Paris La Défense business district. In order to meet traffic requirements, this 140-meter office tower rests on a concrete slab suspended above a 7-lane highway. She understands :

  • 46,000 m² of offices;
  • 4,000 m² of services;
  • 1,500 m² of outdoor space with green terraces.

Methodology

The acoustic firm Tisseyre + Associés has developed a joint working methodology with the architect. Indeed, our 4D digital soundscape modeling tool in the future state of completion, the BIMAE®, is an essential work support for close collaboration with architects and urban planners at all stages of the project. The BIMAE allows a joint study of the internal and external functions of the projects and the 3D visualization of the sound propagation at the foot, on the facade and around a building at any time of the day. Thus, we were able to anticipate, optimize and integrate the acoustic solutions within the architecture of the project.

Tasks

Complete acoustic mission and impact study on the creation of new routes.

As the transport routes pass under the Trinity tower, it was crucial to carry out an acoustic impact study of these routes on the future district. Based on the topography, the route and the estimated attendance, the BIMAE® allowed us to model the sound impact of new transport routes on buildings in the future state of completion throughout the day. We dimensioned and integrated the acoustic solutions accordingly in the architecture from the first phases of the design.

Acoustic insulation optimization

BIMAE 3D sound modeling® allows visualization of the actual noise exposure across the entire tower. Thus, instead of sizing the facade insulations in a uniform way, we have optimized them. Unlike the so-called ray projection method, zone mesh modeling allows more detailed modeling of sound exposure levels and offers true 3D. The inaccuracies of the radiation technique lead, in fact, to systematically overestimating the insulation requirements. For the Trinity Tower, 140 m high, we managed to save 5 million euros on the nature of the facades.
