Mohammed VI University is the first Moroccan multidisciplinary university dedicated to health professions. Covering an area of 31,000 m², this university has been equipped with educational and interactive technologies to promote high-level learning.

Methodology

With 30 years of experience in the acoustics of conference rooms and multimedia integration, the acoustic firm Tisseyre + Associés has developed a joint working methodology with the architect. Indeed, the needs related to the operation of the rooms structure the choice of multimedia equipment. However, these same choices of equipment structure the architecture of the environment. This is why joint acoustic integration work with the architect is essential in order to obtain successful conference room acoustics. For this we have developed tools and methods for modeling the acoustics of rooms in 3D: Hall Acoustics®.

Tasks

Acoustics of conference rooms and amphitheaters

Thanks to Hall Acoustics®, we model all the architectural details of the conference room and work together with the architect on the choice of shapes, materials and textures so that they contribute to the acoustic performance desired for the room. In order to guarantee the intelligibility of the conference rooms, natural acoustics have been favored. For this, the wall coverings of the room were designed jointly by the acoustician and the architect. In addition, for one of the amphitheatres, the partially reflecting plaster ceiling ensures acoustic intelligibility at medium and long distance for non-sound voices. The rear part of the absorbing ceiling restricts the effects of reverberation in these large volumes.

PA system

The design and integration of the competition sound system between the architect and the acoustician ensured better auditory reading. Indeed, the separate sound system has been positioned so that it is superimposed with the visual source. Thus, coupled with the natural acoustics of the room, auditory comfort is assured.
